Torrisdale Estate boasts beautiful holiday accommodation – from cosy cottages to beautiful bothies and even a castle apartment. All are dog-friendly.

It is the perfect location for a secluded getaway and there is plenty to do without leaving the estate.

There is a beautiful bay on the doorstep which is very safe for swimming and water activities.

An abundance of wildlife can be spotted such as red squirrels, golden eagles and many varieties of birds. Regular guided walks take place in the summer.

Torrisdale Castle Estate has been in the ownership of the Macalister Hall family since 1872 and over the years has benefited from innovative diversification. A successful self-catering business began in the early 1980s, started by the current laird’s parents, Donald and Mary Macalister Hall. This business continues to thrive today in the hands of Niall and Emma. Niall has further developed the estate by installing a biomass boiler which efficiently heats the 200 year old castle using estate wood and has installed a 99kw hydro-electric scheme which has significantly boosted the estate’s income.
